  • Changes to Planning Application Fees in England

    Paying for Planning

    Currently the Government sets a standard level of fees that can be charged for planning applications anywhere in the UK.

    Proposed Free-for-all in Charging

    But now the Coalition Government has issued a consultation paper covering proposals to change this in England & Wales.  In this they suggest that setting these fees should be devolved to local planning authorities.  This would enable them to set their own fees as a reflection of the actual costs of processing planning applications in each individual area.
