It has come to our attention that some Timber Frame companies in the UK are claiming FSC-Certification of their structures. This is only a valid claim IF the Timber Frame company holds a valid Chain of Custody Certificate. The FSC is a vigorous standard, ensuring careful management of our world's forests. By making these false claims they cannot guarantee FSC-Certified timber frame and are diluting and endangering our forests and the worthy efforts of the FSC name.

Reducing Carbon in the Construction Industry
The Code for Sustainable Homes is here, and its aim? To ensure a reduction in the massive CO˛ levels produced by our development, use and decommissioning of buildings. The whole process of building and use must be addressed in order to reduce the impact.
The Code seeks to drive a step change in sustainable home building practice, promoting sustainable design, manufacture, construction and use of our homes. The Code is currently voluntary for builders on private land however, the government plans to make this mandatory in the near future.
